In Buenos Aires people trow garbage in the same way than in Caracas. The only difference is that in Caracas they are called "recoge-latas" and in Buenos Aires "cartoneros". In Venezuela they only recollect brass, iron, copper, aluminum and paper, but in Buenos Aires they recollect almost everything. This people were push to go to the streets and leave from the garbage since the last economic depression around 10 years ago. Now is very common to see people that go around the city researching the garbage and collecting things from it.
La dinámica en que recolectaba los objetos ha cambiado. Lentamente se ha generado un equipo de gente que "busca" cosas y objetos que me puedan servir para trabajar: algunos de los "cartoneros" ya me conocen y me traen cosas que se encuentran o mis amigos me regalan objetos que van a botar. The way that i used to collect objects has changed. Suddently a group of people "search" for things to give me: some of the "cartoneros" know me already and bring me things that found or my friends give me objects that are trowing away.
Luego de realizar algunas piezas tuve la oportunidad de hacer una exposición en el Instituto Municipal de Cerámica de Avellaneda. Es una escuela muy Interesante porque están trabajando realmente en conjunto para la sociendad. De ahí sale gente muy bien formada y con un perfil de ayuda a su entorno que va mucho mas lejos que una simple cuestión política o demagogia. After making several sculptures, I have the oportunity for an exhibition in the Instituto Municipal de Cerámica de Avellaneda. Is a very interesting School because they are working really close with their surroundings and society.
