El Salón Nacional de las Artes ocurre en un palacio muy cercano a la Facultad de Derecho donde realicé una de mis últimas exposiciones individuales. Este edificio se llama Palais de Glace, posee una historia muy particular, la cual pueden leer aqui.
The National Art Exhibition takes place in a palace near the Law School where I didone of my last solo. This building is called the Palais de Glace, has a very particular history, which can be read here.
Este año es muy importante porque se cumplen los 100 años de la creacíon del salón. Cien años de dice muy rápido, pero hay que detenerse a pensar que eso significa que es un siglo de artistas que envían sus trabajos, un jurado los escoge y luego se muestran al público. Es un siglo exhibiendo el arte nacional y reflejando las "tendencias" culturales de cada época del país.
This year is very important because conmemorates the 100 years since his creation. One Hundred Years can be said very quickly, but you have to stop and think that is a full century of artists who send their artworks to a jury who chose few of the artwork and then display it to the public. It is a century where the national art exhibit, reflect the culture of each era in the history of this country.
Para este salón, decidí presentar para la convocatoria al arte cerámico ya que venía trabajando con ese material hace algunos meses. Quedé seleccionado con esta pieza que se llama: Utilitarios-mentales en diálogo.
For this event, I decided to present some pieces made in ceramic. I have been working with that material since few months ago. I was selected with this piece is called: Utilitarios-mentales en diálogo (Utility-mental in dialogue).
Esta exposición estará abierta hasta el 27 de febrero 2012 para quienes estén interesados.
